July Family Events

By Katie M

Triad Smarty Pants and Prudential Carolinas Realty are wishing you and your family a fun-filled and safe summer! We're excited to share all of these July family-friendly events with you. Be sure to check this event calendar often, as we are continuously adding new events!

Have an event to publicize? Just email us your information to triadsmartypants@gmail.com and we'll get it added! Please try to send us information in an email or Word document only (no PDFs or JPGs), and be sure to include name of event, date, time, location (including street address), web site link, phone and/or email if applicable, and short description. Or, add your event as a comment at the end of this blog!

Keep reading to get the summer scoop...

In addition to our July calendar, don't forget:

Our Kids Eat Free blog is updated as we hear of new deals, and some Triad restaurants are offering some sweet summer savings.

Speaking of good eats, Chick-fil-A hosts Family Nights at its restaurants every Tuesday night. Not only do they have fun activities for you and your children, but your child will also receive a free Kids Meal with the purchase of an adult meal. For a complete list of events happening at Triad Chick-fil-As, click here.

Keeping the kids reading can be an event itself in the summer, but we have a great list of places helping to make it easier with free storytimes and other fun reading programs!

Beat the summer heat with a movie matinee! The Grand Theatre in Winston-Salem (5601 University Parkway) has a Summer Kids Flicks series every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10am for just $3 (includes a free box of popcorn and a kid-size soda) from now until August 18.

Our friends at the Community Theatre in Greensboro are running Willy Wonka this July, and our friends at Eastern Music Festival have a great summer line-up too.

And don't forget you have until July 15 to mail in your form for discounted tix at the TSP & GSO MOPS night at the Greensboro Grasshoppers game on Sunday, July 18 at 4 pm!

Once Upon A Mattress
Thursday, June 17, 2010, 8pm
Fitzpatrick Auditorium
Kernersville Elementary School
If you thought you knew the story of "The Princess and The Pea," you may be in for a walloping surprise! Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that Lady Larken's love for Sir Harry provided a rather compelling reason that she reach the bridal altar post haste? Or that, in fact, it wasn't the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are you'll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again.
