The Great Pumpkin Patch Search
By Katie M
Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, and one thing I love to do with the kids is find a great pumpkin patch where they can run around, have fun, and create fabulous candid shots. Pumpkin patches make the best backdrops for photos, do they not? So every year I am on the hunt for the best pumpkin patch, and every year I come up short. I know I am not alone in this because a few Smarty readers have emailed us asking for a list of pumpkin patches around the Triad. Rachel and I even reached out to friends to ask for their favorite pumpkin places. A few offered some locations listed below, but many were in the dark like us.
Below is a "working" list of pumpkin patches around the Triad - meaning we would love some input! Some of these locations are actual pumpkin farms while others are just seasonal locations offering pumpkins for sale and other activities like hay rides and Halloween attractions. I tried to include as much information as I could find. Also, I have only been to the pumpkin patch on Clemmonsville Road in Winston-Salem, so I can only vouch for that location (it is a pretty good patch - not fantastic - but good). The rest of the locations below were sent as suggestions or I found them online. So, you'll have to check these out yourself and let us know if they are good, or not! If you have any other suggestions, please add them in the comment section below. Enjoy the search, and help us grow our list!

Thank you for this list. We are new to the area and usually always take photos at a pumpkin patch for halloween. I am glad I know where to go now. I may have to drive by some of these this week and see which one has the best picture spots!
Thank you for supporting Hidden Horse Farm's pumpkin patch but it has moved. It is now at Alpha Acres in Yadkinville which is a ministry of the Winston Salem Rescue Mission. It grew to be too large for our small farm and now it is at home on over 100 acres with lots of room to add new activities each year. Right now they offer 2 corn mazes, hay rides that go through some of the most beautiful land, a cow train, corn shooter, water balloon shooter, duck races, milking cow, big swings, tether ball, sand pits, etc. The website is www.wsrescue.org
Activities that are happening at our farm are now located through the following website.

Sarah Beth Fishback heads up the program and offers a riding club, birthdays, camps, and lessons.
Thank you and I love your site!
