Smarty Scoop on Weekend Events

Looking for last minute gift items and stocking stuffers? Then come out and support Smarty Sponsor Spooneez -along with 30 local vendors - at the Meadowlark Middle School Holiday Baazar (in Winston-Salem) on Friday, Dec 11th from 5-8pm as they showcase their products and handcrafted items. In addition to Spooneez, vendors include: 31 Gifts, Pampered Chef, Silpada jewelry, Mary Kay, Creative Memories, Best Friends Bakery, Games 2 U, Cookie Lee jewelry, Polliwog, and Green Beanies.

The night will include a hotdog/hamburger meal for only $5.00 per person, along with a gift basket raffle featuring 12 themed baskets (winter fun, movie night, game night, chef's, his, her, etc) with special contributions by The Jewel Box, New Town Bistro, Big Shotz, Young Chef's Academy, Meg Brown, Bounce U...just to name a few. Tickets are only $.50 each or 3 for $1.00. There will also be a band and chorus performance, art exhibits, and book fair that evening.

And don't forget: Spooneez is running a 12 Days of Christmas FREE SHIPPING promotion on its web site along with daily surprise specials. You won’t want to miss them!

More than 5,000 luminaries along the loop at Country Park will be lit. Bring a nonperishable food item to be collected by the area Girl Scouts and distributed to needy families. Free.

Gingerbread Workshop at the Children's Museum of Winston-Salem
Tuesday, Dec. 8, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 13, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Join us for a mini-gingerbread house workshop where we make houses out of individual milk cartons! It is a perfect size for your own pint size gum drop (a.k.a. you child!)! Listen to a gingerbread story, sing along to holiday music, and take home your very own gingerbread house! This workshop has a Please Touch philosophy! Children can test taste the yummy candy they are decorating with to make sure they are happy with their decorative choices! Registration required, $5/child (one free parent entry into workshop, does not include admission into the museum). Pre-register by Dec. 9 for the workshop on the 13th. Breakfast with Santa

This annual holiday event is one children, and parents alike, will love. Don’t spend another minute waiting in a long mall line to see Santa. Bring the family to the Graylyn Estate for a delicious buffet breakfast and a visit with Old St. Nick. Don’t forget your cameras for the photo-op while your little one sits on Santa’s lap and for the smile on their face after receiving a special gift from him. Graylyn has also partnered again this year with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to be a local drop off location for Toys for Tots. If you wish to participate, please bring a new, unwrapped toy for a boy or girl. Cost for the event is $19.95 per person, $9.95 for children age five to 12; free for ages four and under. I've been wanting to have a reason for a Spooneez product for a while! Today's promo with the free travel thing did it. I just ordered an original Spooneez and can't wait to get it along with the free gift!
