Smarty Scoop on Weekend Events

Wahoo - it’s the holidays!!! We know you’re probably busy, but if you need an escape from the family :), a place to take the kids now that school is out, or a great local event for your out-of-town guests, consider some of these events happening around the Triad. Don't forget that the lights at Tanglewood are still burning bright! We took my parents last night and they loved it! Plus, word has it that Greensboro has a "sugar plum neighborhoood" not to be missed. Be sure to check out Carrie's blog before the holidays are over!

Let the lasers entertain to classic holiday tunes by artists, such as Mariah Carey, Nat King Cole, Enya and Bing Crosby. $5.

OmniSphere Theater Holiday Shows: Season of Light
Saturday, December 26 at 1 pm
Natural Science Center of Greensboro, 4301 Lawndale Drive, GSO
Learn how certain holiday traditions are connected to constellations above. $5.

Big Bang Boom Rockstar Camp
Wednesday, December 30, 8:30-11:30am
Greensboro Childrens Museum
Calling all future rock’n roll stars ages 6-9 years old! In this camp, kids will get to spend the morning learning how to rock out with Big Bang Boom and prepping to be the opening act for the band’s New Year’s Eve “Eve” concert right here at GCM! The fun starts at 8:30am! Concert begins at 11:30am. Call 336-574-2898 x308 to register by December 18th. Space limited to first 20 kids. $35 per child.

New Years Rockin’ Eve “Eve Party” with Big Bang Boom!
Wednesday, Dec.30, 11:45am

Let’s romp and stomp with some creative noise makers in creation station, parade down GCM’s Main Street and rock out with Big Bang Boom! We will countdown to “Noon” Year’s Eve Eve! Don’t miss this last chance to party in ‘09 at the museum!

ArtQuest Family Night
