Breaking News: 1 million strollers recalled by Maclaren

By Jen P., Charlotte Smarty Pants

Stop using your Maclarens, Smarties! They are voluntarily recalling one million strollers sold in the U.S. since 1999.

A side hinge mechanism poses the risk of cutting or amputating a child's fingers when the stroller is being opened or closed, the British company admitted today. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately. Maclaren is planning to provide a free kit to cover the stroller's hinge mechanism.

The affected models include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveler.

For additional information, contact Maclaren USA or at (877) 688-2326.

**Note, the Maclaren website is down at the moment, I'm sure they are overloaded so keep trying to get through.
