Happy Wednesday, and where the heck did June go? I can't believe this weekend is already the Fourth of July. Below you'll find a lot of great holiday celebrations happening around the Triad. But, before you go anywhere this weekend, be sure to log on to Triad Smarty Pants on Friday for some great tips on having a safe Fourth of July weekend.

Also, don't forget that tomorrow is Alive After Five at Corpening Plaza in downtown Winston-Salem at the corner of 1st & Liberty Streets. The 12th annual event kicks off at 5:30 pm and continues through July 30th. Admission is free. Check out the website for band listings and parking info!

Free Children's Magic Show!
Friday, July 3 at 4 pm
Unity Church of Winston-Salem 108 Hewes Street, Winston Salem
Children from the Fun Magic Camp will perform the tricks they learned this week to amaze and amuse children of all ages. You will enjoy this family show and you might even be selected to be a volunteer! Watch cards float in mid-air, coins vanish and reappear, turn a blank piece of paper into a real dollar bill--or even try some candy that was confetti just seconds ago! Free.

DADA First Friday Gallery Hop

Join the Downtown Winston-Salem's Art District for the first Friday Gallery Hop. Streets are closed to autos and filled with the downtown arts community, artist demonstrations, music, dance and more. Free. Phone: 336-734-1864.

First Friday in Downtown Greensboro
Friday, July 3 from 6 - 9 pm
Elm Street area, Downtown GSO
The community is invited to a self-guided tour of local art galleries and studios, museums, retail shops, restaurants and alternative arts venues.Many of the participating locations will host special events, promotions and demonstrations and some venues may offer extended hours and refreshments. July 3rd In The Park - Independence Day Celebration
Friday, July 3 from 6 - 10 pm
Burlington City Park, Burlington
Burlington will turn back the hands of time and have the original Independence Day Celebration at the Burlington City Park as they did many years ago. Sack races, coins in the haystack, the water balloon toss and watermelon eating contests are all back by popular demand. The Magnificents will perform at 6 p.m. and The Company Shops Concert Band will take the stage at 9:15 p.m. and perform during the launching of the fireworks display. Splash B4 the Blast
Saturday, July 4 at 1 pm
Kernersville Community Pool & Water Park 1113 W. Mountain St., Kernersville
Join KPRD staff for free door prizes givewaways every 15 minutes and fun in the sun. You don't have to be a Y member to enjoy this fun day but call the YMCA at 996-2231 for hours of operation and more pool information. Cost: $3.45-$7.15 depending on age and residency.

4th of July Concert and Fireworks
Saturday, July 4 beginning at 7 pm

Independence Day in Salem
Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 am.
Old Salem Museums & Gardens 900 Old Salem Road, Winston-Salem
Join us to celebrate Independence Day in a place that experienced it first hand! During the day you can experience special music performances, hear the Declaration of Independence read, play games on the Square, watch the militia drill, participate in a fire drill and enjoy many other activities from the 18th century! 4th of July Concert and Fireworks

Flying Fourth at the Farm!

All-a-Flutter Butterfly Farm, 7850-B Clinard Farms Road, HP
All-a-flutter butterfly farm will celebrate July 4th with a a brand new presentation about Monarch Migration, a chance to feed the butterflies and then enjoy some old fashioned fun with a scavenger hunt, sack races and a game of wiffle ball in the field. There is a misting tent to keep you cool during the festivities. Bring your blanket and a picnic basket, or purchase roasted hot dogs, watermelon and hand-cranked homemade ice cream cones. Fun Fourth Festival Pops Concert & Fireworks
Saturday, July 4
Jamieson Stadium, Grimsley HIgh School, GSO
July 4th festivities begin with a Pops Concert at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Gate City Fireworks Spectacular at 9:30 p.m. Grounds open for food vending at 6:30 p.m. No seating is allowed on the field. No pets, coolers or picnics, please. Free. Rain date July 5. Phone: 336-274-4595.

Fun Fourth Festival
Saturday, July 4
Streets of Downtown Greensboro
A community celebration of Independence Day in downtown Greensboro. The Parade starts at 9:30 a.m. beginning at Greene and Lindsay Streets and ending the Greensboro Children's Museum. The street festival runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and features art vendors, food, five stages of live entertainment and a kids' amusement area. Free admission; amusements and concessions require use of Scrip. Phone: 336-274-4595.

Summer on Trade
Saturday, July 4 from 7 to 10 pm
Corner 6th and Trade streets in The Arts District, W-S
The best street party in the Triad is back for its 10th year celebration. Each Saturday night this summer, plan to come to Downtown's Arts District for an eclectic mix of live music, delicious festival food and beverages and dancing in the streets. Summertime Memory Book Workshop
Sunday, July 5 at 2 pm
Reynolda House Museum 2250 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem
Find historic Reynolds family photos in the Museum and then create a book to hold your own summer memories. The workshops are held from 2 to 4 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month for elementary school-aged children accompanied by an adult. Admission is $7 per person.
