Smarty Party Idea: Updos Princess Parties

By Katie M

Are you the proud mother of a little princess? If so, you now have two reasons to celebrate. First, you can technically call yourself a Queen (a much-deserved title for any mom), and secondly, you have the opportunity to pamper your little one at a Smarty Sponsor Updos Princess party for her next birthday! How can you resist? Updos is offering Triad Smarty Pants readers 10% off the total cost of your next party if you mention you saw this blog today, or their listing on our birthday party directory.

I had my first encounter with Updos last year at the one-year birthday celebration for Confluence Coffee in Winston-Salem. Confluence booked Updos for a princess party in its basement, and when I took my daughter to this event I was blown-away.

The room was divided into two party areas: one for hairstyling, make-up and face painting, and the other room was transformed into a mini theatre featuring Disney princess movies on a big screen, as well as crafts and live storytelling by the Updos ladies themselves. The storytellers were magnificently dressed up as Disney princesses and paraded around the room greeting everyone who arrived. When the story hour began, every little girl instantly became captivated by the fantasy tales delivered by a storytelling Disney princess. No script or book was present. It was a true theatrical event. And one that was very magical for my daughter.

So if you have a budding princess in your house, we highly recommend you consider Updos. Princess Parties and Parties and More by Updos offers professional planning brought right to your front door. They are a team of professional make-up and hairstylists, as well as trained dramatic artists. What other time would this crazy combination be such a success but in planning parties for girls?

Updos’ parties are themed appropriately for all ages. If you're planning a princess party, they offer a party planner who orchestrates a two hour party that is filled with beauty services, fashion show, tea party, storytelling, games and dancing. They are also proud to offer a selection of adult princesses who may accompany their team to the party. For teens and pre-teens, Updos offers beauty and/or spa services as well as age appropriate games and dancing.

They are also working on parties for boys and will unveil these soon. Themes for these parties include Secret Agent, Pirate Parties, and Knight at the Round Table.

UPDOS is proud to celebrate 10 years of serving the Triad area, and you can tell they have the experience. They are extremely nice, professional, and they treat every birthday child (and his/her parents and guests) with the royalty they deserve.

Updos pre-set packages start at $275, or you may build your own package according to preference and budget. And again, mention this blog on Triad Smarty Pants (or their listing on our Birthday Party Directory) and receive 10% off the total cost of your party.

I had a party similar to this years ago for my daughter and it was one of her favorite birthdays. She is now thirteen and I will say that you should take advantage of these "princess" moments when you can. They grow out of it so quickly. I love the ideas they have here!

That picture at the top is a precious picture of Emma Acree! I was given the opportunity to have Updo's come in to my home and do a party for all the girls in my first grade class! I still treasure those memories to this day! It is a wonderfully, special way to treat your little princess!

This comment came in through our Facebook fan page:

Susan Schmarge Lounsbury: I did this last year for my girls and it was the BEST party ever. They did such a good job my girls still talk about it. All the little girls (and one little prince) had the best time getting dressed up, dancing, having tea and a story with Cinderella and playing "pin the kiss on the frog". I can't recommend it enough!!!
