Smarty Scoop on Weekend Events

By Katie M

Happy April, Smarty friends! It may be April Fools Day, but I'm not joking when I tell you we have a great weekend upon us! There is so much going on and so much to tell you about! Before we dive into the weekend events, below are a few announcements we want to share:

March 30 was National Doctor’s Day, and to celebrate this, a Triad dermatologist, who founded www.drscore.com, is encouraging patients to give their doctors the gift of feedback by completing a 3-5 minute survey on the web site that rates their physician on factors ranging from wait-time to being greeted by the receptionist to how much time the doctor spent with you. This is a nationwide web site, so feel free to log on and give feedback to your doctor!

The Sara Lee Center for Women in Winston-Salem is hosting a free Q&A for new moms the first and third Thursday of each month from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. A qualified lactation specialist will be on-hand to discuss concerns. Moms can also get free baby weight checks in the nursing mothers’ store. Email Angela Gallagher for more information at angrubgal@yahoo.com, or call 336-414 5942.

The American Red Cross will be running babysitting clinics in April, June and August. Choose from Basic Aid Training, First Aid for Children Training, Babysitter's Training class, Advanced Babysitting, Big Brother, and Babysitter's Boot Camp. Classes usually run from 9am-3:30pm. Call 724-0511 to register.
