Smarty Sponsor: Evy’s Gifts

By Katie M

Spring is in the air, and there’s no better place to celebrate the season than at Evy’s Gifts. I stopped by their shop in Kernersville on Tuesday and the whole experience just made me smile. Nestled in among a row of quaint Shops on Main, the doors to Evy’s were wide open and welcoming to all the friendly passersby. When I first walked into Evy’s, I was greeted by a huge display of unique Easter items, and then I quickly found myself immersed in an amazing assortment of eclectic décor and gifts for both inside and outside the home. You can seriously lose yourself in ideas and excitement at Evy’s. I only had a few minutes to shop but could have easily have spent hours.

From coasters to can wraps to handcrafted collectibles, you’ll find it at Evy’s. They also carry an assortment of home décor items, jewelry, fun and quirky notepads, candles, memorabilia, stuffed animals (Webkins!)…and the list goes on and on…and so does their impressive vendor list. Plus, if you are looking for a specific item from one of their vendors but can’t find it in their store – chances are good that Evy’s can order a minimum shipment of that item.

I was especially excited to see Evy’s selection of Tyler candles in its Kernersville store (and I am told the Greensboro store does not carry this item.) These are not easy candles to find, and they can fragrance a room for minutes on end. Tyler uses the finest quality waxes and opulent fragrance oils to create the ultimate aroma experience. Each candle is hand-poured, ensuring even-burning and maximum fragrance.

Started by Triad residents Joe and Evy Attayek, Evy’s has quickly become known as one of the most unique gift stores between Boone and Myrtle Beach. For years, Joe owned a lawn and garden services company that not only sold garden accessories and equipment but also yard art items, lawn décor and unique gifts. Soon these unique gift items became so popular that Joe and Evy decided to start a separate retail business to focus on these rare finds – and that is how Evy’s was born. One trip to Evy’s and you can see how the business has flourished. Every gift item is personally selected by Joe and Evy Attayek, and everything is affordably priced (and some prices are insanely low!).

If you think you need an occasion to shop at a store like Evy’s, think again. It’s the kind of store you’ll want to visit for the experience and for the smile. And if you’re like me, you’ll most likely find that “certain something” you can’t go home without - whether it’s a gift for a friend, family member or just for yourself.

Evy’s Gifts has two convenient locations in the Triad. The original store is located in Greensboro at 2925 Battleground Avenue (beside Longhorn Steakhouse), and their newly expanded store is in Kernersville at 126 South Main Street. Both locations are open from 10 am to 7 pm Monday – Saturday, and from 12 to 5 pm on Sunday.

“Gifts for EVY season and gifts for EVY reason” is Evy’s tagline, and it fits!

I like the photo at the top. Are those the purses made from recycled material? Are they at the greensboro location as well?

If you like Dept. 56, Evy's always has great holiday items by them. I usually by mine here for gift exchange parties.

Katherine, yes, the bags featured at the top of the blog are recycled purses and can be found at BOTH Evy's Gift locations. Thanks!
