And the Winner of the Sawtooth Giveaway is …

By Rachel H

Congratulations to Amy Jones! She is the winner of our recent giveaway and will receive one free week of camp for her child at The Sawtooth School for Visual Art. When I emailed Amy to tell her she had won she stated that she had a hard time believing my email was for real because she never wins anything! I also asked Amy a few questions about herself, and below is her response. We are so lucky to have such wonderful moms like Amy reading our site!

So let's get to know Amy…

"My husband, Christopher, and I moved from Salt Lake City to the Triad in the fall of 1996 after we got married. He is a native of here and it seemed like a good starting point for us after college. As our lives have developed it continues to be where we like to call home.

Our girls and home life are my full responsibilities now. Ruby Anne is five and Loie is two. In my working days I focused in the non-profit sector in volunteer management; and can attest that our community is overflowing with generous and compassionate people.

I do enjoy gardening, yoga, sewing and jogging (I wish I went fast enough to call it running). In 2007 I completed the St. Jude's marathon, this was a very surreal moment for me, as I never ran more than a mile until I was in my thirties.

Winning the Sawtooth camp was a great surprise. I believe the arts are so important in the development of individuals. It is another platform for understanding diverse interests, perspectives, experiences and cultures. Thank you for allowing my oldest to attend this year. She enjoyed two weeks of their camp last year and will still mention it to this day.

I highly recommend the Taste of Art experiences Sawtooth offers. Last summer I rounded up some girlfriends and we got a chance to let daddies do bedtime routines while we painted, drank wine and hung out. I don't think it was a career changer for any of us, but a great time for sure!

As my children become more independent I hope to be able to enjoy more of Sawtooth's resources and maybe create a new hobby for myself.

As for Triad Smarty Pants, I simply love it and use it as a reference for many local mommy ideas. Thanks for making it happen," said Amy.

Thanks, Amy! Enjoy your give-away!

Congrats to you! I am glad you had good experiences with Sawtooth in the past. Their schedule of camps looks terrific and we are thinking of doing one or two with my children. Enjoy your free week!

I have been out of town and missed this giveaway! I can't believe it. Sawtooth is incredible and I have sent three children there over the years. You will not regret signing up for one of their camps!
