Smarty Scoop on Weekend Events
By Katie M
Happy Wednesday, Smarties. It’s that day of the week again. Time to make plans for the weekend, and there is a lot to choose from too! One of the coolest things I just found out about, thanks to Allison T with Triad Smarty Pants, is Summer Kids Flicks at the Grand Theatre on University Pkwy in W-S. Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 am you can enjoy movies with the kids for just $3 a ticket! And that price includes a free box of popcorn and a kid-size soda! For a full listing of movies, click here!
Another loyal Smarty reader from Burlington sent us a great list of events happening in her area of the Triad. If you live close to Burlington, be sure to check out the events below including Summer Fundays for Kids which is happening tomorrow at Thataways Youth Center in the Homebuilder Shelter from 7:30 am to 6 pm for kids ages 4 -12. Entertainment includes crafts, movies, organized games, and much more. Cost for the public is $21/day or if you’re enrolled in the BRPD Afterschool program it’s just $16/day. You can call 222-5072 for more info.
You gotta love summer with all the festivals happening around our area. For the complete list of events this weekend, read on!

Can anyone post a link to other summer kids movies? I have the Grand (thanks!), but I think Carmike and a theatre in K-ville do the kid's movies too. Thanks for any help you can give us!
If you can email triadsmartypants@gmail.com with the links we can get them posted. Otherwise, if you know the details and can share in a post, that'd be great! Thanks for the heads-up!
